  4. Makes sense, at that site you defo want a brown-dominant camo to say the least (if it's all like the picture). At places like that where there's barely any greenery, I've seen the darker desert patterns work ridiculously well. Just plain coyote brown uniform/kit can be brilliant when the site is all just dead twigs and leaves on the ground with bare tree trunks.

  6. You want to look cool (in your own mind if no one else’s😉) in a lid ? Then fill ya boots ! You want to wear it for protection ? Again crack on (no pun intended) I’m a great believer in a little bit of protection is better than no protection at all . The cheapest I’ve personally seen or owned have either been solid thermo plastic or a thinner plastic or resin on a substantial polystyrene inner helmet (no different from a cycling helmet design) and then the more expensive ones not sure of the material but I’m more than confident they’ll survive most ‘normal’ impacts you could receive Airsofting ? Me personally I’m also of the opinion that if any Airsoft ‘type’ helmet receives an impact severe enough to brake it so badly that it could cause injury from the broken shards of the helmet then I’d say quite frankly those wounds are the least of your worries it’s the rest of the serious injuries you have you need to worrie about !☠️ 🤣🤣🤣 so on a gameday for me it runs near as woodland 75% looks and 25% safety , CQB 25% looks and 75% safety .

    Helmets for BIG heads

Exactly this. When you've been told as a child, from medical professionals, that one more severe knock to the back of the head could kill you, it's enough to put the fear in you. Granted my skull will have re-strengthened by now but I'm still gonna wear it, even if it only increases my chances 10%. On a scale of prayer to guarantee, I'll take 10% any day of the week and if it gives me confidence then I'm all for it. The CQB site I play at has a leaky roof which leaves puddles of water full of slimey green algae on a completely concrete floor. I have boots that can deal with oil, ice, BB's etc but algae bests them easily. Not to mention the many trip hazards from building debris, other people and my own feet and the multiple stairwells. Yeah, I'll take a helmet.

    Helmets for BIG heads

Sometimes when wearing a helmet I actually bump my head more due to extra height it gives me. Catch 22.

  9. @ImTriggerHappy - I can't say I know, or encounter, many who do wear helmets in CQC due to the negatives. I agree that the overwhelming majority wear them for cosmetic appearance but your tone is rather disingenuous. Am I foolish enough to think mine will protect me from a fall, such as that you'd experience on a push bike? Not in the slightest. Do I think that it'll provide that bit of protection to save me a hospital trip in the event I whack my head on a support beam or if someone lobs a TRMR round a corner without looking? Almost certainly. Admittedly this year a rated helmet is on my list of purchases.

  10. As far as a helmet for a larger noggin' goes - Airframe this is the best solution I found, short of going for a real lid. @Eddie The Headshot - I wear one for protection, due to medical reasons. I suspect the majority of people wear them for the "tacticool" (I loathe this term) look. @Seven more or less summed it up nicely. On a sidenote at sites which allow TAG rounds and events which allow them I personally think they should be a mandatory requirement. @ImTriggerHappy - As Seven has stated, some is better than none, for me personally I play a lot of CQC and it's more the danger of taking catching my head on a low crawlspace/cut through. I realise that if I want any serious protection I'll need something actually rated for it but for just catching a door frame I've found my current one to be more than sufficient for the task.

    Helmets for BIG heads

Bit of both for me really. Playing CQB with trip and slide hazards etc. I almost killed myself several times as a kid, falling/slipping backwards and smashing the back of my head into the ground. With a helmet I can run around and do stupid shit without fear. But it can also look cool. I custom painted mine. BB's don't hurt enough to warrant a helmet, it's the environmental hazards for me.
