I'm not a total purist, i just can't abide Crane stocks on AK's. Even though some MVD units do actually use them on real steel. But those arses have been photographed wearing multicam ffs, not even a Russian version of it either, actual Crye MC. This is what the well dressed Spetsnaz soldat is carrying this season: ...stock, top cover & RIS by Zenitco.

So my wife got me an XDM for christmas. Well i got it she just paid for it lol. I decided i wanted it Stippled but thought i'd give it a crack myself. As you do. It may not be to everyone's liking but I think i've done a cracking job and it looks pretty smart.

    underslung pistol?

I would love to see a G3 with under slung MP5, with under slung MP5K. It would serve no purpose but would be hilarious.

  4. Dunno if this is new news or not, but a company called NPOaeg are making a proper AK12, although they will most likely charge through the roof like they have done before

  5. Gloves are very important. Not only they protect the fingers from shots, they protect you when laying down, climbing through things, or going through bushes. I don't like helmets, and I don't like too bulky face protection either. Get a mesh mask, and eye protection, a shemag scarf and some cap IMO.

  7. Seen a lens being smashed on a YouTube vid, but it was hit pointblank in cqb by a guy who was cheating (was shooting at like 500fps+ or something daft). I think they're strong enough to take normal hits, all the people I've seen using them have had them unprotected anyway.

  8. Don't think GBB pistols would work, you'd have to use a NBB pistol

  9. Thread title says it. Built myself a pistol rack out of some cheap wood last week, much better solution than I had before (i.e. all the handguns just sort of crammed haphazardly next to some other gear on a shelf).

  10. Just got from the wife a GoPro Hero (Just the basic Hero). I have no idea about these things so what am I going to need other than a 32gb Card and what looks like a helmet mount (To attach to a Fast helmet). Do I need to put it in a case? (It's already om a case but I can see the lens being cracked in seconds) any help appreciated!

  11. You'll need a decent write speed micro SD card for it, had to sort out a couple of gopro's that were using cheap class 10 cards, crashed a lot. Ended up using http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-UHS-I-CLASS-Micro-Adapter/dp/B00J29BR3Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1420232389&sr=8-1&keywords=class+10+micro+sd+card so can confirm they work fine. You can get rubber covers which protect the waterproof case from impact (ebay), but I've not seen anything which actually covers the cases lens.

    AK picture thread! :)

Been working on my SRC AKS-74U GBBR, added a real steel Vector Rail, PTS AFG and Noveske Soundhog, all sourced from Dedsec on here. Plus a reflex type holo sight I already had. Fitting the rail was not straightforward as it is a fraction longer than the original handguards and also needed a new narrower gas tube fabricating from various pieces of brass tube, this was a pain to get right but still be large enough to allow the gas piston to move freely inside. Moving the Front sight/gas block forward about 7mm on the barrel solved the length issue thankfully. After all the work it works fine and I'm really pleased with the outcome. So apologies to those who like their AK's to have wood furniture, but my 2 AEG's do have wood furniture if that helps lol!

  13. You could try adjust the hop up unit to see if it is not jamming BBs before entering furthermore it could be due to the colder weather causing the rubber to be too hard to feed through.

    SCAR Choices

Depends on what floats your battleship. If you want a wide range of magazine choices, go for the Scar-L. I had a G&G Scar-L and currently have a VFC Scar-L and a VFC Scar-H. The G&G and VFC Scar-L took the same magazines no feeding issues. I used P-Mags, STANAG magazines and E-Mags in both G&G and VFC Scar-L's no issues. VFC has considerably nicer externals (in my opinion). The bolt on the G&G sounded like pinging a tin when releasing the bolt. Rather pathetic and toy sounding. The upper receiver in FDE is also wank to be honest. More glossy than matt. Now, if you want to look meaner, the Scar-H is your Arnold Schwarzenegger airsoft equivalent. If you don't mind a 7.62 load out (less commonly seen which is always nice to be different) then go for it. I don't think G&G do the Scar-H. Only VFC, D-Boys and Tokyo Marui do as far as I'm aware. D-Boys is intermediate junk for beginners. Internals are made from paper cutouts and the exterior is plastic and pot metal, yuck. Tokyo Marui are obviously the best, but for a price little want to spend. So VFC would be your best option. Not forgetting you can slap on an SSR rail kit and a longer barrel and bish bash bosh, you have a pretty sweet looking VFC Scar-H SSR. It's really down to you. It's between the G&G Scar-L or the VFC Scar-H. The Scar-L will; - be easy to obtain a wide range of common 5.56 magazines. - accepts standard M4/ M16 hop up chambers (madbull ultimate, metal hops etc...) and that's really it. The Scar-H will - look much meaner - easily made into a DMR which actually looks like a DMR (not some 5.56 with a rifle scope disaster) - bit more unique - stands out from the typical 5.56 guns (M4's/ M16's and obviously the Scar-L etc...) However it's not all sunshine and rainbows. The VFC Scar-H has a unique hop up and unfortunately there aren't any metal replacements in the market (yet). Not forgetting you'll have to adapt your load out to accept 7.62 magazines however you can pick up a 7.62 double fast magazine pouch for under £10. The VFC Scar-H takes D-Boys magazines no problem so you don't need to pay £20+ a magazine luckily. Hope it helps and if you're after the Scar-H I have one up for sale. I can also give you a dark earth 7.62 double fast magazine pouch free as it's the only 7.62 gun I have.

  17. Ok. After many hours of swearing I finally got it fited. Molle spoon and Silicone spray helped alot, its not as tight as I would like but I ziped tied it tight... So let it be known to the world that I HATE molle straps that are not sewn onto the pouch... Just use malice clips...

  22. Liquid blanco in Natural webbing colour. Yay more blancoing! Having received for Xmas a 2nd set of P37 webbing, I can now start tailoring a set to my Aussie impression. For a British impression the webbing has to be blancoed to make it green in different shades according to the period. It took me a while but I eventually discovered that the correct colour for Aussie webbing is no blanco at all. Apparently the Aussies never saw the point of all that extra work, just as they used tan boots so they didn't have to keep them shiny. So I have washed one set of webbing and scrubbed as much blanco out as possible. Now to hide the residual green and make it look unblancoed, I am going to have to blanco it. Can anyone else see the irony? I have incidentally recently dyed my Aussie uniform to green which would have matched the colour of my webbing and now my webbing will go back to a khaki colour which would have matched the original colour of my uniform. It will however look awesome The next planned webbing alterations are to get 2 more ammo pouches and sew them to the sides of the large pack, a trick common to both the Aussies and Chindits. Then I shall obtain a 5x 30 round Thompson magazine pouch and alter it to fit P37 webbing instead of the left ammo pouch. This will make an Aussie Owen gun mag pouch.

    The Whisk(e)y thread

Having worked for 10 years in the drinks industry I've tried quite a few different brands of Whisky. The best was in the boardroom at Bells, where we were offered some very expensive single malts with our lunch. But without spending a fortune on a bottle, I prefer Grants as a general blended for everyday (or rather every night) drinking and it's stablemate single malt Balvenie Doublewood (or Triple Cask) for those occasions when something a little better is called for. I will also drink Glenfiddich, but compared to Balvenie it is a bit bland, except if you can get hold of a bottle of 25yo, when it's much better, but bl**dy expensive.

  28. Not exactly adventurous but - More AEP's! The CYMA/TM ones are alrite and all, but a bit more variety for those of us who prefer cold reliability over having fun things like blowback would be nice. Also a KSG 12, sure it's a pile of arse irl, but it's all tacticool...
