Project Gun

11 posts in this topic

Hi i'm looking for someone to point me in the right direction as to what i should possibly purchase. I'm looking to spend maybe £300 all in so i don't really want to be spending much more than £200 on the gun. It needs to be highly "customisable" and preferably quite simple to do as this is my first project. I'm not bothered particularly as to what type of gun it is as long as it isn't a pistol or support weapon. If anyone can give me some advice that would be great! :)

Hehe, i was fairly sure M4 was going to be the answer. Problem is, and yes i am quite new to all this, there's so many M4's to choose from and there's the problem with part compatibility so what sites/makes/models should i be looking at?

well that all falls down to one word BUDGET

with £200 you could go for a fairly nice one, have a look on land warrior airsoft, zero one and fire support find one you like then come back here and ask, would be the easiest way

if you want it to be "your own personal one" i suggest you actually buy each part separately. might be a bit more than £300 if you want the best of the best, but at least it'll work really well.

thats a good idea, however, if you're new may not be advised,

for something a little different but still highly customisable you could look at a full length M16 w/ RIS?

I personally bought an Asia EG M4 (sr16) for this kind of project due to the reasonable price and full metal ris, body and internals. The stock motor's a bit naff but after a motor swap and a re-shim I'm getting round about 19 rounds per second out of it. The whole thing cost me about £270 for the gun and parts. I'd definitely consider some of Asia EG's guns for a project rifle.
