Got a 6.03 stainless angry gun on the way to replace the 6.08 that's in it at the moment. I bought a (don't laugh) dboys m4 for my first rifle, mainly because it was cheap and it looked aggressive as hell! But the plan has always been to replace the internals with better stuff over time as i got more into airsoft and more used to how i like playing

I would never laugh at someone for buying a dboys.

I would just give them a sympathetic pat on the back while saying "there there it can only get better" 😂

C*ck! Haha nah i will admit the internals are made like crap, but the receiver/shell itself is brilliant. And it will be a savage gun when im through changing the inside. Just the gearbox to change and ill be happy, aside from that its just the last extra bits to make it look better

And there is always the support group, DBoys Anonymous.

(I'm hoping that the colour is actually duller than it appears on screen so that 1] i can use it if i sprain a wrist when i return to the field soon and 2] it'll be good for those poor sods who just cannot quite grab the bull by the balls and strip the paint from their 2-tones.)

s-l140.jpgSurefire 502B Clone with 4x5W 850nm IR LED's - £3.24 posted from China via ~ fleabay.com not .co.uk

(Things like torches, lasers, generic red dot sights, scopes, ring mounts & weaver/picatinny mount/rail accessories ordered direct from China are usually very much cheaper when you're bidding against yanks rather than brits - about 1/3rd in my experience.)

s-l140.jpgDual Mode Pressure Pad & Latch Switch for C8 type Torch - £3.99 posted from fleabay

(The plan is to fit this switch assembly in place of that on the 502B Mouse Tail above, because I can't find one ready made for a 502B and having a latch option is much more important on an IR torch: when you're in pitch blackness relying on NVG you really don't need to have to remember to keep your finger pressure on the pad whilst stressed, but having multiple options, for eg the ability to quickly blink through the presses needed to make the 502B strobe IR and really ruin the day of opposition using NVG is one time where multi-mode torches could prove disproportionately useful to their cost. If it works well and feels comfy I'll probably get another for my C8.)

The trouble with these Oslon type IR emitter LED's is that they also give out a faint red visible light, so I may end up having to fit an IR pass filter to the torch, which in a way defeats the purpose of using an IR LED, since i could have just fitted the poxy filter to one of my existing visible light torches! But then again I expect that you get much better battery time out of an LED which mostly emits just the spectrum you want than using more power and filtering it. I dunno if the red glow is even sufficiently bright to need filtering IRL mind, has anyone got any relevant experience?

Just picked up an "unskirmished" G&G top tech 416 with 3 mids and battery.

Also have 3 more mids on route.

All I need to do now is decide on the new paint scheme....

I was just taking the piss - some DBoys exteriors are very good - their steel bodied AKS-47 for eg. In fact until Meister Arms came along with their AK's, which are gen 1 E&L's with a different badge, one of my next projects was going to be a DBoys AKS-74 and swap out the internals for a CYMA gearbox with SHS motor & gears, piston, nozzle, Magic Box double O-ring piston head, Prowin hop chamber, Prometheus hop rubber, PDI barrel and real bakelite AK mags with midcap internals, and probably a KK BW3 MOSFET although maybe a BTC Chimera.

Magpul will just make it worse its chav wear for airsoft guns.

Dboys with magpul furniture, just need to paint a Burberry pattern on the ris a nike swoosh on the side and then a superdry logo on the butt pad and it will be "sorted".

You missed "Bench" - big letters not quite fitting on the mags methinks. And obviously Burberry boxer shorts in the loadout! If you've got chance to cancel, deeb mate, do it... for the love of all that's perforated, cancel man!

Edit to add:

s-l140.jpg Bulgarian KGB belt - £18 posted from Sofia ~ fleabay

(Unfortunately the Bulgarian frogskin camo onesie I bought a while back does not quite fit, but now that i've actually held it, i've really fallen in love with the pattern, so a Bulgarian loadout is on the horizon for sure!)

stuff for me - woohoo!

Yeah me too, i dont want magpul stuff any where near my rifle but i know trig cant stand it haha

I reckon most guns want an upgrade to make them as competitive as possible, and dboys is tm compatible on the inside so its all good

Its not nice to try and trick me. I have feelings you know Im a sensitive soul.

Your not wrong all guns need tweaking to get the best out of them even the much lauded Tm recoils.

The glow will be naked eye visible from directly in front of you, from the sides it'll be all but indetectable, it IS visible to someone who's been in the dark for a while though. As for the IR filter, I wouldn't bother; I tried it with a near-IR laser and because the filter only allowed true-IR through the output was massively reduced to the point where it wasn't even worth using. Filtering a visible spectrum LED torch is also relatively pointless, the output range of a 'white' LED is really narrow (they also tend to be towards the blue end of the spectrum) and very little IR is emitted to even get through the filter. Incandescent bulbs are another matter entirely, they kick out LOADS of IR and work great with a filter, but at the cost of brilliance in the visible spectrum.

Sadly, even going high-end on IR emitters doesn't really help, even a surefire KM3 dual vis/IR head gives off a very dull glow in IR mode. For what you're after, especially the IR strobing (which will 100% mess with gen1 NVGs, less so autogated gen3) the torch you've got there will almost certainly do the business.

OK Who has been running VIAGRA in their gun

still as long as gun and owner are happy that is what counts

Hehe

I'm sure the owner will be happy with his long mag until the secondary fragmentation happens :D
