While talking to an old friend I metioned I had to strip krylon off some plastic. He segested useing either denatured alcohol or vegetable oil. Has any one tried these  on a.b.s. plastics? Will they work? I've heard mineral oils not to good on plastics. I know about the dettol method. But just throwing the idea out there. Any info would be greatly apprecoated :)

Fairy Power Spray for ABS. Vegetable Oil will do jack diddly squat, Methylated Spirits (denatured alcohol to everyone apart from the french) can be a tad risky depending on the type of plastic.

Assuming you're not removing two tone paint - which is frowned upon to say the least - white spirit/methylated spirit/desat alc should be fine on most polymers and definitely on metals.

Soak. WIPE dont scrub. Soak again. repeat a lot. Jobs a good one.

Softer plastics may react to it negatively, old TM bodies for example.

What are you removing paint from?
