Full metal M4/HK416 AEG options

While I'm selling my R8L to help fund a VSR build, I also want to start thinking about an M4 or HK416 type AEG further down the road. Something important for me looking to the future is a full metal construction. In terms of the mid level AEGs in the £200-300 price range, any suggestions and thoughts?

That looks bags of fun!

Wonder if I can get the longer outer barrel for it...

This looks a little more up my street - never heard of Specna Arms before, but the tech specs look good

I've got a Specna. An SA-B12 (8" Keymod)

Externally it's great the body and rail is built really well and the only wobble is a slight bit of movement on the stock. A bit of tape sorted that.

Mine is the version with the old "quick change" spring, where you still have to lift the gearbox out.

Newer ones have the spring that can be changed by taking off the buffer tube.

Probably nowhere near Tokyo Marui or VFC standard externals, but like I say, very happy with mine.

TM, VFC and just about everyone use the same metals for AR variants.  Marui recoil externals are really weak compared to the likes of an LCT AK (hell, even CYMA).

The Specna guns look a LOT like they're built using G&P receivers but it's hard to tell from photos.

My SA-V01 was a clone of the G&P Sentry, and I really liked it. If you're looking for a longer outer barrel you could get the SA-H03 (their M27) or put a barrel extension on the normal length one.

I'll take mine apart later Ash and take some better close-up photos of it. That way you might get an idea of the quality.

It's worth checking with Peter from AK2M4 - Hes importing loads of the E&C bodies (identical to Specna). You can buy just the externals then?

Peter is a top quality bloke too. Always helpful any time of day.

+1 for the Specna guns. I have an SA-A02; nicely put together, GFC gearbox but other than that it seems pretty decent.

Looking at the SA-H02 myself....

Hi Ash,

I've taken a bunch of close ups of my Specna. Instead of bombarding the forum with a bunch of 4640x2610 photos, I'll give you the link instead :)

The paint is starting to wear in places, but it's had regular use for about 6 months now or so, so it's to be expected.

Remember this is one of the earlier Specna, so I'm not sure if the finish on the newer "SAEC" versions is a bit more rugged.

But it's all solid to hold and it's a nice tight fit.

Thumbs up from me. Just change the hop up chamber/rubber if you do get one.

The attention to detail looks great, thanks for taking the time to take those photos!

i think one of these - perhaps not the keymod, but a similar model - will be the route I go down.

I am thinking of buying a Specna rifle so cheers for the feedback, they seem very reasonably priced.
