Hangtight Posted February 15, 2017 Share Posted February 15, 2017 Having got fed up with the slim rail system on my M4 constantly coming loose I decided to fix it once and for all. The problem is there's nothing to lock the barrel nut, so... Mark four of the spare holes in the barrel nut onto the outer barrel. Drill and countersink. Hangtight Posted February 15, 2017 Author Share Posted February 15, 2017 That's just the standard barrel nut that comes with the slim line rails,so it already has a load of threaded holes in the hope that some of them will line up with the holes in the rail once it's tight. Seemed a shame to waste all those left over ones, so four of them are now home to the grub screws that lock the barrel nut to the outer barrel, and the points on the grub screws locate in the countersinks on the outer barrel.
