This thread will never die.....

People will always buy from there first and regret it, like most of us did

by then it is too late to read this thread - you got scammed....

BUT - if you discover this thread then you will soon take a little comfort that you are not the only one to be tucked up

JBBG must spend ££££ on Google Adwords - coz they always come up top when looking for airsoft or bb guns

Hence so many newcomers get swept along and accept that this guy knows his stuff

(Bull$hit deffo but Airsoft hmmmmmmm.....)

if there was a Lidl or KwikSave in airsoft - it would be based in Twickenham

Hopefully people learn quickly and just buy from these clowns once or twice

think JBBG know this too and can't mug ya over & over again - but by then it won't matter

another sucker stumbles across these "pro's" in their search engine,,,,,,

The saying "one born every minute" comes to mind and so it continues - just like this thread

For all the hate i did buy my first Airsoft gun from them.

But it was a quality one namely a G&G M14 EBR short barrel.

All the other stuff they had in the shop when i visited it in person was utter tat, flimsy plastic sniper rifles etc.

Worse still while i was there i saw them sell a bb pistol (albeit a cheap low FPS, two tone, spring knock off worth about £20) to a 13 year old traveller boy who brought along his big sister (she looked barely over 16) as adult purchase.

Yup, having a tick box on a website for 'I confirm I am over eighteen' might be alright in terms of legal protection for them, but I doubt it prevents thirteen year-olds ordering stuff from them. As you say, there's a lot of crap on BB gun websites, but it's not all crap, and if you know what you are looking for then it certainly is possible to buy decent stuff off BB gun websites. For example, I recently got my 'pseudo PSL-54' JG A47 off 'BBguns365' for 99 quid including postage, which was about 40 quid cheaper than anywhere else I could have got it from, and I knew it was an okay gun, so was happy to have them supply it, after all, they just take it off a warehouse shelf and put it in some packing same as any more 'respected' online airsoft shop would do.

I think the real problem with BB gun sites, is that when you read some of the user reviews posted on product pages, many of them are quite clearly from people who are nowhere near 18 years of age if the grammar is anything to go by. So it is rather obvious that selling to young people who are largely ignorant of differences in quality, and not legally allowed to buy either, is their stock in trade, and they clearly don't give a shit about that either. They also do tend to claim that everything they sell is awesome, and occasionally make bogus claims about their stuff too, so, caveat emptor, as ever.

But I've never actually had bad service form any BB online shop, everything I've ever bought from any of them has arrived in a timely fashion and any problems I've had with stuff not being in stock has prompted them to call me and let me know of that very quickly. So I personally will use them if they have something cheaper than elsewhere, which they quite often do.

Their skirmish site has closed already? I thought they only set it up a few weeks ago. Shame, I was looking forward one day to going there with my SVD with the PSO on it and nailing a load of people with Double Eagle, Black Viper and Bulldog M4s with complete impunity as their fire from bulldog .2 BBs rocketed off in all directions.

I dont know if they have a new site, i'd only found mention of them running a v small CQB site in the warehouse attached to the store they setup in Wokingham. The store is long gone so the site must have gone with it.

Unless 'Airsoft101' and the site 'Warehouse13' is them, in which case it doesn't appear to be open yet, or failed to get going.

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi all - I wanted to make you all aware of the trouble I have had in my dealings with Justbbguns.co.uk.

I am from a Film Production company and we had been trying to create a specific shot for a client. We had tried to create it using post production techniques but in the end we decided it would be easier to use a real looking gun.

So I had a look online and found this 'company'. I ordered a bb pistol and ticked the box saying I was from a production company. They took my money, confirmed my order and that was it. Or so I thought.

A few days later I received an email advising me my order was now on hold and to contact them immediately. So I did. But they didn't answer. For 3 days I tried to contact them until finally they responded to one of my emails and told me I had to provide a whole load of documents before I could complete my order. All this despite the fact they had already had my money for 5 days. Anyway by this time it was going to be to too late for the shoot anyway so I said forget it just refund my money. At which point they then said I would have to pay a 20% handling charge to cancel my order. At no point was this pointed out to me and nowhere does it say this on their website. So now I have to wait for the outcome of a claim made through Paypal against these thieves.

My advice - DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS.

They're not the best it has to be said, however, they are correct in stating that they do need sufficient evidence that you are from a post production company or similar in order for the sale to be legal (typically a letter on the company stationery detailing the production the thing is for) and it does say that on their checkout page as far as I'm aware.

I work for a post production company too, and even though that means I could certainly use that status to purchase realistic imitation firearms for the special effects I produce, I know that it is a pain in the ass to provide that info, so I instead use my UKARA registration number. Frankly however, I would have just bought an orange BB gun, sprayed it matt black and then done all the other necessary visuals in After Effects if I were you.

So long as this was within 14 days of receiving the item, (which it obviously is in your case, as you haven't received it) you have the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations (superseded the old Distance Selling Regs)

Them claiming a 20% restocking fee for an item not dispatched is illegal and you need to tell them! Post 14 days they are within their rights to and have no obligation to accept the item back. But as you have paid and they have not dispatched, you are covered.

As per always don't just take legal advice from some faceless moron on t'internet, go off and do your own research on the CCR.

But a strongly worded letter, threatening small claims court for breech of cantract and CCR breeches would be my next priority.

Wow this post is old and brings back memories! I used to work for them for about 2 years. The shop in Wokingham closed down overnight and we all got sacked on the spot! Its an alright company but after working there you get to find out alot stuff behind closed doors. I would go on to explain what happaned but it will take way too long. Something which is alot easier to verbally explain.

I live local to Mark who part runs the company. Havnt bumped into him in a long time but I heard bad horror stories about him when he closed down the CQB site.

Seen alot threads which mention I was/am a bad tech. I personally think this was far from truth. Most of us in the shop fixed the guns but only 3 of us could do it to a high/good standard. The rest just bodged the fuck out of them but ofcourse because I was the main tech everything which that shop repaired reflected onto me! I

Depends how you look at the company mate. The shop itself which I worked in was great, all the staff are friendly and even the internet side of the business. The main issue is that they dont sell airsoft guns because they love the hobby. They sell them because it is easy money. Which means they do alot of questionable things because all they want is the money.

Been out of airsoft for the past two years now mate so I havnt really got anything to prove. Still got all my airsoft stuff just incase I love it all again. I took pride in the work I did on peoples guns but to save money I was made to cut springs, use inferior grease, parts etc. Which took the quality of my work down. That did annoy alot because it was my name being put on all the work which came out of that shop because I was the tech there.

There were three guys who worked there who had no previous airsoft experience who they got to work on the guns. Bodges were made here there and everywhere. Quite often I would be handed a gun in loads of pieces and just told "fix it" because they couldnt do it. We got given every gun which was returned as faulty so we could fix them, some of the ways I saw how they fixed those guns were very questionable. On the outside they looked fine but open them up and jesus christ. Missing shims, badly placed/pinched wires. Not to mention the VSR rifles which were "fixed", they worked but for how long was the question.

In future, it might be a good idea to leave if you find yourself working for a company or person whose values you do not share or want to be associated with - and I am saying this not as criticism towards you, but rather, a general piece of advice that you might want to consider, not so much for the sake of the customers sake - but for your own.

Again, I know nothing about you, no harsh feelings!

Its fine mate no worries. It was nearly 3 years ago that I got sacked from that job. All in the past and many life lessons were learned.

Hi,

I'm a relatively new airsoft player in London, i've been playing for around 6 months so I still consider myself a beginner. There are 2 reasons for my post;

1. To warn others NOT TO BUY FROM justbbguns

2. To find out who else in this forum has experienced similar issues with them.

For context, i have prepared a summary of my customer experience with justbbguns, see it below:

I purchased 2 Airsoft rifles costing around £500 plus a load of accessories from this store a week ago. I went to an Airsoft game over the weekend and upon trying to use the rifles for the first time, they they both broke down within minutes. Both rifles had major faults, I had an on-site rifle specialist take a look at them and he informed me that they had already been opened and the Internals were tampered with, he said that they certainly weren’t new and are likely to be refurbished or returned faulty goods. I immediately tried to contact the store and have tried contacting them for 2 days, they don’t answer their phone, their online ticket system is a black hole which isn’t attended and after reading reviews I’ve seen how many others have experienced this very issue. They will sell you faulty equipment then avoid you and provide no means of getting a refund. Absolutely terrible business, this company are untrustworthy crooks, DO NOT BUY FROM Justbbguns....

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with this company ? Whilst looking at google reviews i found hundreds of negative reviews all complaining about the same thing, they sell you faulty products, then avoid you and refuse to give refunds and replacements can take up to a year, which is ridiculous.  Please share you experiences here, also if you would like to share your details with me privately please dp as I am opening cases with trading standards UK & CrimeStoppers. Your help here to shut these crooks down and prevent them from ruining Airsoft for anyone else is much appreciated.

Mmm, I have seen this issue of returned stock being sold as new levelled against several of the "fooBB.com" merchants.  Best of luck.

What criminal offence have they committed?

Good man.

What criminal offence have they committed?

Have a read here, https://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/personal/faulty-goods

When it comes to faulty goods many consumers are unaware of the protection and statutory rights they are legally entitled to. Shops often exploit their customers' uncertainty and violate shoppers' statutory rights by shirking their legal responsibility to remedy situations by offering refunds, repairs or replacements.

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, traders are legally responsible to sell goods which are

  • ‘as described’, meaning the the actual product must match any description(s) given to the customer before purchase by which the goods are identified
  • of satisfactory quality, that is they are of a standard that would reasonably be expected taking into consideration the price paid and description. In appropriate circumstances the quality of the goods will include freedom from minor defects, durability, safety, and  appearance and finish.
  • fit for all purposes made known to the seller at the time of purchase

They sold me & many others faulty products, if they knew that the guns were faulty (Which is suspect they did, considering the amount of faulty guns they sell & the fact that my products had been opened & tampered with prior to my purchase) then that is illegal

You'll probably want to cite Fraud Act 2006 S2 Fraud by false representation rather than CRA 2015 if you're going to accuse them of being criminals.  CRA enumerates your tort rights, it doesn't create new criminal offences (except for obstructing an enforcement action or purporting to be an enforcer).

On that, I've invited justbbguns to exercise their right of reply in this thread.  Mostly for the lulz.
