Following Operation BLACK HEART in the village of Gambir - Kunar Province Afghanistan, Task Force (TF) 76 were successful in capturing the two (2) priority High Value Individuals (HVI's) and one (1) of the two (2) Al Qaeda (AQ) couriers as outlined in their detailed tasks and missions.

(Please see the Operation BLACK HEART After Action Report for more information.)

However, a second identified courier was able to flee Gambir with a small number of AQ operators during the ferocious Close Quarter Combat (CQC) that took place.

We believe that the courier and his group will attempt to move east through the wooded lowland of the Korengal valley with a view to cross the border and disappear into Pakistan.

TF 76 feel that although they had success in Gambir, that the task in hand is not complete. To that end JSOC have sanctioned a follow up mission and TF 76 are to deploy into the Korengal Valley iot* locate and detain the AQ courier and his group before they reach the relative safety of the Pakistan border.

TIER 1 would like to say a massive THANK YOU to ALL who attended - Operation DEADFALL.

The Operation was a HUGE success from my point and the entire team at TIER 1.

The operation was one of the most physically demanding and realistic Combat Operations we have been able to stage to date.

The weekend included orders around 23:59hrs on the Friday night followed by battle prep and saw the sniper/recce teams deploy out into the vast forest in North Wales around 02:00hrs. The remainder of the Task Force (TF) deployed around 03:00hrs and inserted on foot to their FRV with full kit. From the FRV the recce group selected a suitable harbour position which was occupied prior to first light.

As this was taking place the Escape & Evasion (E&E) team was dropped off at the Southern most part of the Objective Area (OA) with little to no equipment, weapons and food. From their DOP they had to make a series of timed RV's iot* reach a border crossing point North of the OA.

The E&E Team had to do this whilst being hunted by a determined BLUE Hunter force, Sniper/recce teams and avoid the local Militia all within a very demanding timeframe across extremely difficult terrain.

The BLUE Hunter Force had to deal with constant interference created by the Militia force who used IED's, small arms and grenades to hamper their search efforts throughout the entire operation. The Hunter Force also had to move their Harbour position to a Lying Up Position (LUP) at night again carrying full equipment after having operated already for nearly 18hrs.

Everyone that took part in Operation DEADFALL, regardless of which side they played on, experienced a tough physical challenge, a lack of sleep, tons of realistic military drills and tactics and everyone worked together as a cohesive military unit.

Ultimately we at TIER 1 aim to give our customers the most realistic military experience(s) we can and during this operation we were able to deliver that in spades.

Huge congratulations to those that made it until END EX and avoided injuries, stayed focused, on task and had smiles on their faces Sunday morning. We sincerely hope you were challenged both mentally and physically and above all learnt something.

Well done to Greg M and Calvin form the E&E team for making it across the border and commiserations to Tony M and Matt B for not making it out. Better luck next time fellas.

We will release a full After Action Report which will include action points from the BLUE Hunter Force, the Militia Force and the E&E Teams.

Once again thank you to all who attended and made Operation DEADFALL the success it was.

A massive thank you to Dave P from A-TROOP, Tricky, Tommo and Greg M for all of your hard work throughout.

Regards.
