  5. LOL, well I did used to be a marshal there for a few years. Old habits die hard I guess. I think it's technically referred to a Flat Dark Earth (FDE), but if calling it beige makes you part with cash, then so be it. I think it's potentially headed off to London (if the buyer comes good tonight and sends money). Red dot, chest rig, tracer unit are sold along with some Ferro Concepts gear so far. Think I'll be frequenting the post office as my new hobby, lol. And I'm not completely away just yet. I still have grenades, a pistol, gas and BB's meantime for a return to Biohazard should I fancy it.
  6. Well, decision made. That's my Evo and G17 advertised here, on another forum and will be added to a few discords. I've advertised my UF Pro gear on Facebook and have gone through everything I have, photographing it, ready for advertising. It'll take time to list it all individually and move it on. I feel ok about giving up airsoft. A bit sad, but I feel the time is about right after 12 years and with The Depot closing its doors (although I've held off from advertising my G34 and TRMR's meantime in case I fancy a CQB game in the near future). I'll wait until the rest of my stuff sells first before I let them go. Although I hurt my back and didn't actually get to play woodland again on Sunday, just being back at the site (POW) was nice for a catch-up, but I know woodland games are not what I enjoy most. Now to think of another hobby.....

For Sale - (Rare) Tokyo Marui Glock 17 Custom in FDE - £80 (+ shipping & 4% PayPal fees) 1 owner from new. Used, but in overall good condition, with usual wear and tear from general use. Mag is gas tight. This is a rare TM pistol, based on the Gen 3 Glock 17, but with FDE coloured frame, additional thumb-res, flared magwell and a different lighter slide. I've only ever seen one other model of this in 12 years of playing and I believe it is now a discontinued rarity. Shoots around 280-300 FPS gas dependent, with usual TM range and accuracy. This has been my CQB workhorse, used mainly at The Depot, Glasgow. It is a solid performer and works as it should. It has been run on Abbey Ultra, Brut Sniper and Vertex gasses and the mag has been stored with 144a Maintenance Gas to keep it gas tight. Upgrades - 6.01 PDI stainless steel inner barrel with Maple Leaf 60deg Autobot hop rubber and Maple Leaf iKey. No missing parts, however the slide has a hairline crack on the front left corner and the black plastic flared magwell has broken off on the left side (which is no big deal as an identical direct replacement Guarder magwell is only £16 from Fire-Support). Comes in original box with instructions, unjamming rod, original hop rubber, spare brand new TM hop rubber and original inner barrel. Happy to supply more photos if required. Located near Bathgate, West Lothian. Would prefer to sell in person if reasonably local to central Scotland, but also happy to ship throughout UK if required. All items fit inside original box. Buyer pays shipping +4% PayPal fees. Included in the package is the following items with original prices shown for comparison: Pistol - £135 PDI 6.01 inner barrel - £29 Maple Leaf 60 degree Autobot Hop Rubber - £10 Maple Leaf I Key - £10 TM Original Hop Rubber (Brand New) - £10 TOTAL COST - £194

  8. No longer allowed to sell or hint at selling anything gun related on social media. It might not even be as log as 4-5 years ago, that you simply put a For Sale post up on Facebook and your stuff sold immediately. Even the forums where people used to flock to for their airsoft chat, have all but died away in popularity. I'm thankful that I planned ahead in keeping my gear limited, but that was mainly due to fear of the Scottish Government banning anything gun-shaped. @Rogerborg It's been about 4 years since I last played at Biohazard/WGC. Looking at how much gas and ammo I have left, I think I'll need to give it another visit to see how I feel about it as a possible option going forward. How did you find playing there? They currently have 11 spaces left out of 20 for Sun 27th Sep's game. UPDATE - Somehow I've got 2 Sundays off work in a row, so I decided to take the plunge and have booked indoor CQB at Biohazard on 27th Sep and woodland at POW on 4th Oct. I'll see how both go, given I haven't played at all since January and will decide from there whether I want to continue playing or hang up my guns for good.
  9. I'm gutted at this terrible news. Easily the worst Covid related news for me personally, having not really been affected otherwise. It's a huge loss to Scottish airsoft. The site was huge, well thought out, full of variety and most importantly a lot of fun. The commitment to constant improvements and effort put into the place, were outstanding. This isn't the first time they were shut down either. It happened a few years ago and they brought it back with a vengeance. Sadly not this time, by the looks of things. They were lucky to have such a fantastic, large, open, 2 storey building to call home. I heard about the shut down last night about 22:30 just before I was going to bed and lay in bed starting at the ceiling, unable to sleep until about 01:30. Sounds extreme but it's true. I actually slept in for work too. It's horrible having found something so great and then having it taken away suddenly. I've been playing airsoft for 12 years. It's been my one and only hobby. I absolutely loved the Depot, had pretty much all of my kit geared specifically towards indoor CQB there and cannot realistically see me returning to playing outdoors, slinging thousands of rounds at maximum range, hoping to hit someone. It just doesn't provide the same level of adrenaline and challenge. As someone who lives for pistol action and close quarters engagements, my choices are very limited to The Fortress in Kirkcaldy and Biohazard about a 90 minute drive away. As much as I liked Biohazard (formerly The Wargames Centre), it's a fraction of the size of the Depot and I found it got hampered by small numbers attending (certainly did when it was WGC, with regular cancellations of game days) and the use of trigger spamming AEG's for suppression purposes in what could be a really good free flowing and sneaky pistol/shotgun/gbbr venue. So my thoughts are that the death of the Depot will likely be the end of my airsoft hobby, as I'll forever be comparing other sites to what we've lost and I can't see me enjoying myself as much anymore. I've deliberately kept my kit levels low over the past few years, for this very reason, but having bought good quality, expensive kit, I now find myself at a pass - Do I sell everything and try to recoup some of the cost of the likes of my upgraded Evo, Glocks, expensive lightweight extended Prowin gas mags, TRMR's, Streamlight torches, Ferro Concepts plate carrier, UF Pro clothing, tracer unit etc, or hold on to them in the hope that something better comes along. Thankfully I didn't buy any more guns during lockdown, but I've recently restocked on gas (damn it) for my pistols and still have plenty ammo etc, which will likely not get used. Not exactly easy to sell gas and ammo, or to post it. It's also frustrating that it's so much more difficult to sell RIF's and parts etc than it was 4-5 years ago. Another reason I kept my arsenal small. I don't see Covid going away any time soon. I don't see the Depot making a comeback and I don't see the point in hanging on to all my kit in the hope that I'll maybe start playing again one day. I nearly gave airsoft up in January 2019 when I got a bit too fed up with everything in general, but returned to the Depot and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I then tried Land Warrior a year ago to try woodland again, but found it underwhelming and reminded myself why I stopped playing outdoors in the first place. I'm not into traveling long distances to visit a site and milsims are not really of interest either. I don't know. Gutted. Just gutted.
  10. I took the refund, due to my shifts meaning I'd likely be unable to make the first game days back. My trigger finger is very itchy. I'm seriously having airsoft withdrawals. I only got to play 1 game this year, back in January. I specifically arranged my annual leave this year to maximize my chances of playing, but those dates have all gone to waste. I've been watching a lot of airsoft gameplay on YouTube and researching new guns, but crucially have avoided spending any money on airsoft at all, other than stocking up on gas. So far I've nearly bought an MWS and MP7 GBB. Got a real hankering for another GBBR for CQB. Also looking at an Evo BET for an outdoor setup for possibly returning to my old woodland site, where I've not been in 4 years. Only played woodland once in that time, about a year ago. I much prefer CQB, but getting back to woodland would give me a better chance of getting to play more often. Sadly whilst looking through photos from my old site, to see who was still playing there these days, I discovered that an old airsoft friend had died last year. He was only a year or 2 older than me and I know nothing of the circumstances. I was really shocked and still saddened by that. Oh and don't forget the shit trigger on your G17 too, lol.
  11. Seems to shoot very accurately. Good trigger response and sounds good too. Not too expensive either.
  12. I'm certainly interested. I would like to get hands on with one to see how it feels and most importantly shoots.
  13. I honestly can't recall what gears were put in mine, but probably steel Ultimates. I'd personally advise that you get it upgraded and stick with it. It'll be the only AEG you'll ever need and it's certainly the only one I've had for years now. Excellent indoors and out.
  14. As advised in the Evo Owner's Group, contact JD today. They'll replace it or repair it under warranty. Just make sure that you were using the recommended power of battery, or it could invalidate your warranty. Almost every Evo suffers from weak gears, but once upgraded, they're fantastic and reliable. My gen.1 first batch Evo shat its gearbox a few months into ownership. I had it repaired by Landwarrior, but paid to have it upgraded at the same time and I've had no issues with it since and that was years ago. Best AEG I've ever owned in 10 years, Marui's included.
