  1. I've only just began getting into airsoft, I normally spend money/time on Obstacle course events/fitness etc, my 15yr old son did a day airsofting for a mates birthday and told me how much he loved it, and seeing a good chance to drag him away from the xbox I thought I would join him, I did think i would be it would be full of people that were shouting at each other because they didn't cover/or are in the wrong place etc ....I'm only out to have a laugh with my lad so I'm not interested in the competitive side of things, just like when I do an obstacle course, I just want to have a laugh and get outside, ..so airsoft seems good all round.....I know nothing about guns/equipment etc but I'm sure I'll pick that up from chatting to people. If it means me and my lad getting out into the fresh air....its a big yes from me
  2. With regards to BB size would you only use 0.20-0.28 in say a G&G CM16, can you just use any size straight away, or do you have to adjust the hop (not that I know what that is..LOL)
  3. Sorry I meant mod the FPS to Match the site Limits
  4. Thanks, I agree about you tube, I have watched loads of videos about guns etc, my budget will be about £200/250 and I hope that I can get an extra mag, battery and charger with that as well, also the site that I have been going to states FPS 345 for AEG guns, I think the G&G comes about 330 FPS would this be okay,I don't know how good this is but hope its better than a few hire guns I have used that seem to be under powered compared to most..or could this be Modded to 345 FPS?
  5. Hi all Just in the process of working towards my UKARA Registration and have started looking at a first time gun. I started with the ARES AM08, really liked the look of it but read some negative points on forums about the internals, so then read about the G&G Combat Machine AEG CM16 SR-XL, which I've heard are a good solid starting point. Then I spoke to a local airsoft shop who said ICS are a good starting platform. so I thought i would post and hopefully hear some advice from people who use the guns. so any pros/cons about the 3 guns would be great. Thanks Con
  6. Ah Okay so I'd have to look for a mask a well... Well spotted Tad... Also what are the different sizes of bbs and do the guns take all different sizes?
  7. Hi Firstly apologies for the lazy approach and not reading more posts, I totally understand where your coming from Proffrink...a lesson learnt.... Thanks for the advice and info...i think hiring is for me but my son is a bit impatient.. Lol, so I'll keep you posted as to how its going. Thanks again
  8. Hi my names Conrad, and I've just signed up to this forum in the hope of getting involved in a hobby that looks just the sort of thing I'd enjoy at the weekend.. The reason I got to hear about airsoft, is my 14yr old son recently got invited to an event by a friend, who had arranged for 4 mates to join him as a birthday present .... my son was well excited.... He's not stopped talking about it since the day, and he said "dad you've gotta go"... So I'm looking forward to getting something sorted in the next couple of weeks... I too can't wait.... So the question is, do I buy him a gun for his new hobby... He's seen a package to get him started 1x CM16 M4 Raider-L (Bright Green) AEG G&G 1x Mesh Mask Black ASG 1x 8.4V 1600mAh NiMh Crane Stock Battery (mini Tamiya) VP 1x Battery Charger for 8.4V & 9.6V NiMh Batteries VP 1x Blaster 0.20g BBs Bottle of 3000 ASG £160... Also I've read you need a special licence to own certain guns? Is this right? Should I be reading certain websites to find out the details Any other info/tips of your first purchases and must buys would be really helpful. Thanks Conrad
