  1. Ordered an 8Fields plate carrier set up and a few mags last Thursday, took a few days to dispatch but I was updated every step of the way. Arrived yesterday, really well packed and the kit is great. Would definitely use these guys again!
  2. Nope, didn't get those either could be the case actually...I've got the updated SA-V01, the one with the VLTOR upper receiver.
  3. Oi! How come you get a fancy box while Specna Arms only give me a plain cardboard one?! 😂
  4. Got some hicaps, MBUS clones and a SOPMOD stock from them, customer service was brilliant, prices were reasonable and took 5 days to arrive. Highly recommended!
  5. Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there, especially as the receivers are made by E&C (who up until recently I'd never heard of). Safe to say, my next (and hopefully final) guns will be a CYMA Galil and probably TM's stainless M9A1!
  6. Yeah, I agree. In all honesty, I think I might have the same condition as Mr Duck - don't even know why I bought what's basically a fancy G&G...
  7. Rather than waiting for Gunfire to get it back in stock like a good boy, I paid about £50 more to buy it from a 'local store'... Better still, I should've just bought the Galil or Beretta by then. Don't ya just love impulse buys?
  8. Recently bought a Specna Arms SA-V01 in tan. And although I like it... Got swindled. In the future, gonna look into a CYMA Galil SAR and TM M9A1. Man I gotta shift a lot of my stuff!
  9. Loved my new SADF uniform today. Waterproofing on my bush hat really helped in the rain xD

  10. *spends an hour zeroing in an M14* Time well spent.

Definitely, Oreo easter eggs came in my time of need...

  11. Fair enough then, will try to find some cheaper G&G hicaps. Trying to avoid LiPos as I can't afford to pay out for a charger. Who knows? I might even go GBB...
  12. What you should do is make sure that sniping is really what you want to do. A lot of new players go in wanting to be a sniper, buy a gun and all the gear, then play and realise that they don't like sniping. It makes sense...there's a lot of waiting around, lining up your shot, pulling the bolt...it's hard work! I'd recommend an AEG myself, but to each their own! With sniper rifles, you almost always have to upgrade them to get the best results. TM's build quality and reliability are normally excellent, but bear in mind that their FPS is always low. Like, 300fps low. If you want a more powerful rifle, you're better off going for a clone in the end... But as I say, ensure that you really want to be a sniper. Borrow a rifle for a game, play and see if you truly enjoy the experience. Don't do what I did and buy a gun without testing it, then finding that you don't like the style of play. Also, sorry but I can't help much with the paint question! Good luck. Theta
  13. You said it yourself, the Sten isn't practical or ergonomic, and the CM16 is recommended by everyone. For a starter gun, you really aren't gonna want to spend anything above, say, £200. G&G's entry-level M4s are so highly recommended for a reason. They're reliable, they perform well, they're easy to customise, cheap, well-built...the list goes on. Personally, I'd suggest that you take the advice of so many other players on here... On the other hand, look at this way. Airsoft is a constantly growing sport, and new innovations are constantly being made. In two decades, we've gone from TM'S Famas to a ridiculous number of different models. For your first AEG, you want to make sure that you're happy with your purchase, because the chances are you'll be using it a lot and for a long time. Why limit yourself to three choices? There's so much out there to choose from. This forum is a bank of knowledge, so use it to your full advantage! If ever you need a more specific idea, feel free to hit me up. Happy 'softing Theta
  14. Hi all, going to be buying a G&G GC1-46 rifle to replace my current G&P M4. However, I need a couple of questions answered in the meantime. If anyone could help, it would be fantastic! - MAG COMPATIBILITY - what mags would work best with the rifle? I'm on a bit of a tight budget and so I will probably be buying from Taiwan Gun. However, I've had problems with mags in a G&G Firehawk before, so I'm a little worried. Classic Army and G&G hicaps fed beautifully, but Ares midcaps had problems. - BATTERIES - what battery would be best? I'm trying to avoid LiPos as much as possible. I'm assuming a normal NiMH 8.4v crane battery would work, but I had problems trying to fit one in my personal M4. Would one of these work? - BLOWBACK - from what I can tell, the blowback on this 416 is pneumatic. Is it just for show or can you actually feel some of it? Probably won't be anything compared to my friend's TM SCAR-L, but if it's able to be felt then BONUS! Thanks everyone, as always all help is appreciated. Theta
  15. It's really up to you. As someone who's owned both an AK and an M4, I preferred the AK just because of how different it was. The M4 is more versatile and has slightly better ergonomics, whereas the AK seems generally cooler and has a slightly better gearbox design (V3 rather than V2). Whatever's best for you, at the end of the day!
