Not as bad as going for a long drive to a site for the first time only to be disappointed at the end of the day.

  4. Just wondering, has anyone donated any old equipment they don’t use to any of the online Ukrainian help sites?

was thinking of dropping off some warrior chest rigs, spare pouches, torches etc.

Seen on Failbook, via Gun Jesus, from https://www.varusteleka.com/en, and presented without comment.

Hey gang, sending gear to Ukraine?

We’ve had numerous phone calls and emails asking us about our donation to Ukraine. Originally, the shipment was supposed to be sent already before the attack but it ran into some logistical issues. Now the kinks have been worked out and we’ve made sure that all the gear will find its way safely to those that need it. We’ve also noticed that some of you have already purchased some gear to be taken to Ukraine.

We know you all want to help, but we also need to keep the realities in mind. “Infantry wins battles, logistics wins wars”, is the famous quote by General Pershing. Nowadays, when there is so much more gear than even just a hundred years ago, getting the right gear to the right place at the right time can be a nightmare. International post packages are not the way to go right now.

If you want to help the people of Ukraine, the best way to do that is to donate money. There are various organizations collecting donations, for example the Red Cross, Unicef and the UN Crisis Relief. You can even donate straight to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Donating money makes sure that it reaches the people who actually need it, and will be used for those purposes that are most essential right now.

Sometimes it feels better to purchase actual items, and of course these are also welcomed by the Ukrainians. Sending physical items always has its downsides though: will it arrive safely where it’s supposed to? In the midst of crises, all sorts of asshats come crawling out of their hiding places, supposedly gathering gear for a good purpose but ending up selling it to the highest bidder. There is no doubt that the Russian regime is also paying people to divert shipments away from Ukraine. So if you opt for sending gear rather than money, make sure that it will be sent where it’s supposed to.

If you want to purchase smaller batches, you can just make an order online or come straight to our physical store. If you want to haul a van full of gear at once, please contact our customer service so we can work out the details.

What do the Ukrainians need? We’re already almost out of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests but we are trying to get more. Good undergarments and socks are always needed, combat boots in EU sizes 43 to 45, hats, gloves, combat vests, pouches, backpacks, first aid items and meal rations. Do not send Finnish M05 camo gear to an active warzone.
Our own shipment contains combat gear, food and first aid items. We are also donating money.

The situation of the world is vastly different now than it was 19 years ago when Varusteleka was founded mainly to provide gear for airsofters. During the last six years, we have been developing proper gear also suited for active soldiers during wartime that keep you safe from bullets and fragments. Now that the war in Ukraine is escalating, we are working even harder than before to ensure a steady flow of gear even if Finland would be under military threat. Bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets are damn expensive items that offer little money to us, but we’ve decided to keep at least a platoon’s worth of gear in stock at all times. Let’s hope that we won’t need them.

  9. Anyone see on the news (BBC in this case). The part where they showed a market stall selling ‘military’ items in Afghanistan, most shopping were Taliban fighters, hoping for Real Steel American parts, sadly they were Chinese clones…. Most I guess  similar to what we use at the weekends 😂😂😂😂

  10. curious, looking to finally get the TM Mk23 ,wonder if there was ever a decent aftermarket LAM unit produced as i assume the original is not that good?!!?

Not that I know of.  I purchased a rail from Fire Support that fits a small tac light under the barrel. Much better lumen than the LAM and fits into the Viper adjustable holster easier. I use a DTD holster as it is much better and secures the Mk23.

  12. anyone any ideas on Battery type that would fit an ICS Mp5

Torch grip as thats what's fitted

have 2 in mind but just thought id ask! :)

  13. anyone know of any other torches with similar if not identical end caps to the old Surefire 6P?

looking for one for my MP5 handguard (still need the MP5 !!) to use as my 6P is not LED so looks dull!

The ICS handguard, the old 6P screws in, i tried a G2X and it didn't like the thread......

      Speedbird_666

The closest I found (that was decent quality) was the Solarforce L2 with a T6 LED drop-in. Sadly, these are now hard to find, my two will never leave my ownership.

Can you not just get an LED drop-in for the old 6P?

"The effort is cute, but it's all lies...."

Well, this is the organisation that produced a Fact Check video sneering at people for believing the ridiculous notion that the WuFlu was "just floating around in the air", and then continued to run it for months and months after the Chi-Coms said way back in February that they believed it was fully aerosolised with a 3 hour linger time, and the US NIH and CDC confirmed that in March.  If I could find that out, why couldn't the BBC? </rant>

The legality depends on whether it is readily convertible.  The current thinking seems to be that means anything that discharges through the barrel.

There's little point to having a gun shaped blank firer with any sort of barrel if you just want to make noise.  If you want to set off a 9mm blank, a BFG will do the job.

thats all he was after, just something to simulate the noise so a dog is used to it during training

  22. anyone recommend an good bio BBs?

A site im looking at uses them, plus im using my parents garden for my son to possibly shoot at targets in a safe and legal environment.....

      Rogerborg

As discussed recently, you shouldn't expect them to biodegrade in any meaningful way if they're just lying around in a garden.  PLA has to be industrially composted for it to break down in under a thousand years or so.

      Don't tell any site owners.
