I have this http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/Dan-Wesson-CO2-Revolver-Black-2-5-Inch_A10HKH.aspx?nh=171355#.U2SrXfldWqs Great gun. Nice feel and weight, however if you want to use it for CQB you will need downgrade shells. Also you can mod all of the dan wessons to be stupidly powerful, but then they are too powerful to use anywhere. Easy to strip and you can see everything and you don't have to worry about anything jumping out or springing out when you strip it.

  2. Hi there! A new arrival, hailing from sunny Wales - south originally, west, currently. I'm pretty damn new to the world of airsofting, having never skirmished (but hopefully looking to go to a few here and there) and also having only owned one AEG before (a really, really cheap CYMA G36C back when I was 15), but my interest got rekindled recently. I've just bought myself an ICS AK74 and before and since then, I found myself browsing countless forums for info on various topics, so I though it best to actually join one. Although i'm most likely going to be just lurking and reading due to my pretty weak knowledge on the topic, I might throw a few things out around here or there. (The DIY thread is especially interesting to me right now.) From what i've been reading, you guys seem to have a pretty good, mellow and understanding attitiude here, which is cool. So yeah... Good to be here! (Apologies in advance for the long-winded nature of my posts, I have never been good at keeping it short and simple on forums, so if you TL;DR most of what I say, I understand. )

A few quick pictures. I will eventually make a mini guide on how I made this (no lid because hammerite is drying on it).

  5. Welcome to the forums, and you don't have to sit back and relax. Get involved! if you don't understand something, ask the question. We're all laid back here and I can't think we're going to flip our shit if you ask something that has been answered before (although, PLEEEEEEEEEEASE read the stickies!)

  6. You're totally, one hundred percent safe from any sort of legal recourse here. For so many reasons that it's not worth me going into. Just don't start sanding it off/removing it on purpose, unless the gun is already an RIF.

  7. Yes ! Had a G&G MOSFET burn out on my guns first use. (Lucky for me at the end of the days skirmish) POS replaced the MOSFET straight away with in 10 minutes. Was running it on a 9.6v nimh battery. The new one gets hot quick! So not thinking it's going to last long. If not il probably remove it , seeing I'm not going to run on 11.1v anytime soon. Also the trigger spring broke straight away. This caused the gun to fire continually in safe mode.

  9. Welcome to the forum. The MP5 needs a claw mount to provide a top rail for a sight. Its a 9mm x 19mm parabellum SMG so is usually used at short range. If you want an authentic sight, they usually have a red dot. Depends if youre going RS authentic or airsoft effective - lol

  10. A very quick run down of scopes: - Anything with zoom - unnecessary in Airsoft since ranges are <100m and mostly less than 60m. Obviously not appropriate for an MP5. - Aimpoint style - Easy to make robust against BB hits with a killflash, but are tubes and tend to restrict vision more than other close up sights. - Reflex - hard to near impossible to protect against BB strikes. They are by far the most open and easy to acquire target scope but they don't last very long. A BB shield will help a little but they really lack robustness and they get shot out pretty quickly. - Holo scopes - They aren't really eotech holo's, they are just basically red dot but in a short package with a rectangular window. You can get covers for taking BB strikes and they are usually pretty robust against BB strikes. My advice is either holo or aimpoint and probably holo for an mp5 in preference to the aimpoint.

  11. Madbull M100, gives 330 or thereabout consistently Madbull Blue rubbers work well in everything I've tried them in and aren't horrifically overpriced, they're a bit chunkier than TM standards (the other good but cheap option) and tend to give a better airseal yes, always upgrade barrels. Those and the hop are the only thing that effects where the BB goes, doesn't matter about tightness, just get quality (again, I'm going to sound Like I bum of Madbull, but I've always had good results) It depends on your compression. A Piston head O ring solves the problem 9 times out of 10 without any further work and they cost next to nothing.

Take care with using SpecialAirsoftSupplies, he has a reputation on here, simply search the numerous threads about his customer service and the number of people who actually had to call on him at his house with some mates to get their money back.

  13. The P*, fire control unit, regulator and 3000psi air bottle and line cost Joe circa £650 with postage. The G&G hop and P* extended nozzle were around £50 extra on top of that, and the gun was bought as a completed custom build, for what I considered a steal, at £350. Putting the total cost of the build at around £1050 + the 4 Pmags I bought to the tune of £100.

  15. Just to point out CatCrap is a type of antifogging you can buy not actual cat faeces. As for the things that work/don't work, pretty much everyone on the forums that uses goggles will have tried many of the stuff on the list, between us all they have probably been tested extensively and the main point is that as far as I can tell nothing actually stops it from happening it simply delays how long till it happens. That includes using fans like those chromatosphere ( ugh cant use the p word) guys use. Or just go for mesh, if you wear glasses maybe try contacts just for game days perhaps. It cuts out that issue altogether. If you solve the problem let us know so we can all do it!
