Will do. Do you want the MTP cover if it fits on alright? I'm sticking with old skool DPM so I'll probably want to keep the cover I've already got. I can do you a piece of proper skrim net big enough to cover it as well if you like. You'll only need an edge rubber then for it to look like it belongs with your L85...

Yeah to the holster swap still. It is a black leg drop, right?

The MTP cover and skrim net would be ace if you wouldn't mind.

The holster is indeed black, yeah.

Edge rubber?

No bother, Ed. I've got a massive piece of OD scrim that I'm planning to turn into a ghillie suit eventually, but I don't need it all for that. I'm not sure if a medium cover will go on a large helmet, or if there even is a difference in them, but, if it goes, you're welcome to it.

B-) re holster

Edge Rubber - they first came in Black, but now also come in Green & Tan - you can find them cheaper than this, it's just that the cheapest listing, that I bought from, was black only and I expect you'll want a more up to date look - this was the 1st I found showing Tan on MTP so you can see how it looks.

Systema Shim Set - For Sabine (I wanted another pack of SHS Shims* actually, because I've only got 9 Copper ones in the pack I bought previously and I want 12 so that each bearing housing and gear have a copper face presented to them either side of however many SS shims it takes to set the thing up properly. I'm toying with the idea of using Copper Slip to grease them too, but I need to look into that more carefully first.)

Systema 6mm Bearings - Ditto - I'm trying to reduce the racket she makes when firing! (I'm also hoping for a slightly better trigger response.)

Madbull 2 x Shark Accelerator Hopup Bucking & 2 x Fishbone Spacer Set (Clear & Black) - the Black Rubber for Agnes firing at average 422 FPS (I'm hoping she doesn't experience a velocity boost, but that the fins prevent double feeding, from which she suffers during firing something like 1 in 10 shots) and the Clear Silicone for Sabine (whom I hope does get a FPS boost from average 337 to consistently average 350 - Sabine also double feeds, perhaps once in 100 shots, it's so rare it's very hard to guestimate)(and the chances of either of these my fond hopes being realised as stated - nil  ).

*I've ordered these shims, bearings and hop sets from UNCompany, despite their failure to stock SHS Shims, because they were the only Hong Kong shop I could find that had the double pack of Black and Clear Madbulls in stock and I'm allergic to paying more than I need to for stuff when only patience is required to get a better deal. Here's a thing though: their ordering process is a bit unusual, eh?

If you've never ordered from them, you fill in a form which asks for more info than the usual shipping and billing address and they then send you an auto-reply to confirm your order is received, but you don't pay. Their blurb says that they will email me when they have confirmed the items are in stock and that I should pay then. Presumably that email contains a PayPal Invoice or bank details for a BACS Transfer. Sounds potentially very good customer service, n'est pas? Yeah, but...

My alarm bell's solenoid made a distinct click as power flowed, just insufficiently enough to ring it, when I came across the dialogue box in the form where they boldly invite you to conspire with them to fraudulently avoid any import duties/taxes that your purchase may incur, by explaining that that is their intent in less spiky language, providing a field with "100%" ready in place which you can alter and they will then state that the value of the parcel's contents is that percentage of what you actually paid them for it on the customs declaration, and also explaining that, should your order get lost or damaged, you are only covered for the stated value, not the cost price!

They also give a 3% discount if you use PayPal and a 5% discount if you use a bank transfer. Great...!?! Except these are the only two options; why not just reduce all prices by 3%, making them even more attractive (let's have it right, they are well cheap already), and give a 2% discount for transfer users? Weirdos!

Another thing that's both odd and annoying is that they give you a greater than average number of choices of shipping method (Including surface mail, FFs! I mean, is it possible to get surface mail from HK anywhere but China? Do the Chinese airsoft? If their Govt. is as bad as we're led to believe, it doesn't seem likely, eh?), but they don't give a shipping cost estimator, exact price, or even a bloody indication of which methods are cheap and which expensive!

Anyway, does anybody know how long they take to find out if your order is all in stock and which shipping method/s are cheapest without taking more than a month to arrive?

I also confirmed that I am not only nuts but probably schizophrenic when I also bought a couple of things for my loadouts off eBay:

A Bulgarian Surplus Red Star Hat Badge - for my Black Small Crown Beret to replace the Battlestar Galactica Viper Pilots' Insignia that currently adorns it (and necessitated some butchery of the cap-badge reinforcement inside and strip of very dense PU foam gaffer taped over the pin-grip clasps to stop them digging in my sodding forehead (TBF, it does look well cool{I'll take some pics before I swap them over} and, unlike many it seems, I've got a thing about wearing real world Regimental Insignia to which I'm not entitled. It strikes me as disrespectful.)!

A LCpl Black Thread DPM Rank Slide - I've got a pair with tan thread but I only use 1, on my DPM shirts, because I rarely wear my DPM jackets while skirmishing, even though I wear them to and from the site fairly often. Now I'll be able to call attention to the fact that 1 of my jackets has epaulettes (is that what those button down straps on the shoulders are called?) that are pretty faded on the edges and not quite, but close to, 'kin frayed, while the other jacket, an ex-RAF Honiton item, is a non-standard colour: I think the whole jacket has been dyed black with one of those dyes that is actually just a colour so saturated that it appears black, in this case dark bottle green. It may have been made from DPM that was made deliberately very dark I suppose, but I don't think so. Anyway, the result is a DP of shades of dark green and black - good night camo - somewhat strange with ordinary DPM Rank Slides as highlights  perhaps I'll have to have a go at dying them to match...

And, possibly a brilliant notion, possibly an example of Grade 1 dickheadery (only time will tell):

MK 6 Helmet Visor - the seller says it's "Anti Mine" but don't Bomb Disposal Specialists have a different kind of helmet (I can hardly believe that, say, a LCpl who had done the course on anti-personnel mines carried the thing around on the off chance that his/her unit came across them... Don't they just leave 'em in place with a marker, report their position for a specialised unit to deal with it, and go round?)? I think it's for riots, like those they wore in Northern Ireland. It has a plain light OD cover attached but is without any other form of fittings to connect it to a helmet, nor do I know if they come in sizes like the helmets and, if so, what size it is...

In short it was an impulse buy and there may have been a reason why nobody else bid for it on eBay. Still, for £6.49 inc. P&P, if I find out what fittings it needs and obtain them/bodge an approximation, the visor reaches far enough around at the sides and far enough past my chin that BBs can't get inside it to my eyes, and it's roomy and ventilated enough inside that it doesn't, or at least hardly does, steam up, I'll have a solution to a problem that's been vexing me since the very first time I skirmished: how to have full-face protection and still be able to drink and, much, Much, indeed MUCH, more importantly smoke roll-ups in the field!

I've also got an old RUC riot helmet, which I bought with the same idea in mind, but it's black. Excellent for my black loadout, for which I still need a vest/chest-rig (must hold AK mags in ammo pouches with the flaps secured, have a few smaller pockets/pouches, a water resistant if not proof document pocket at least A5 size, have any zips and/or press-studs working, and cost max £16 inc P&P + PayPal fees, so old, worn/tatty/frayed, torn even - I'd go for a PC in distressed condition also) but not so good with my DPMs. "Oh well," thought I, "maybe the DPM cover off my MK 6 will fit on it well enough for now and, in the fullness of time, I can sew one tailored to fit." Except that it is quite old and, whilst it was in great condition for its' age, the perspex band through which the press-studs attach over the forehead turned out to be a little too set in its' ways. When introduced to the concept of flexibility it only briefly considered the notion, rejected it wholeheartedly, and snapped.

I did manage to get the DPM cover on and it fits surprisingly well now that I've used my sewing machine to stitch proper button holes for the press-studs to fit through, but I had to gaffer tape the perspex band together to make the central stud stay in place and the upshot is that the visor now doesn't flip up, nor even move that well, so getting my camelbak tube up past it or, much, etc., my hands with roll-up and lighter isn't really possible without an equal amount of faff as doing the same with my mesh 1/2 face (which has a BB sized hole in front of my mouth, which I put there for straws {through which to drink from my ALICE pouched, yank style, water bottle which is a real pain in the arse to carry and get out/in of/to the pouch} and much, etc., roll-ups, and of course to tempt fate to snap some of my few remaining teeth off at the gum, but doesn't actually serve the former purposes that well at all).

Oh yeah, this time I will apologise for the wall of text and hope that the way some of this post is stream of consciousness stylee will amuse rather than irritate - it's one of the side effects of a lot of my pain meds and my back was killing me before I logged in here - oh and, at the risk of doing it again, I popped off for a scalding hot bath to help my muscles un-spasm (de-spasm? disspasticate? Na spaz me, seen?) and returned in a very different frame of mind :)

Nope, pretty sure I haven't said it before.

Amazon are pretty good to be honest, I cracked my Kindle screen, phoned them up and they sent me a new one free of charge, before I had even returned the old one!

When I get my refund for my laptop, it'll most likely be spent on either my M4 build, or on a Sony VAIO laptop.. miss my old one :(

I feel like that sometimes, but I've found that if you take it apart and put it back together again enough times, it works.

Sorted my M4 gearbox the other day, the trigger would lock (as if it's on safe) when in auto position, now pulls perfectly. Although I have no gun to test it in.. :P

That's how I felt Craig.

It's a great rifle waiting to happen, it's just that the version 2 gearbox is so horrible to work with that I'd actually rather pay for someone else to do it than me do it myself... Except I couldn't be arsed to do that either, hence why I offered it up for sale.

The bloody motor connectors were doing my head in, really ended up buggering up the soldering, the soldering iron I've got is about as good as an old man with a dab-on blowing on the bloody solder...

The selector/cycling/feeding issues can be sorted by fiddling around with the selector plate a bit, the firing issues are just a case of fiddling with the gears a bit.

So, gears, selector plate, motor connection and job's a good 'un. Nothing ought to need replacing, just a bit of a readjustment, bit of new wire and that's it. Shouldn't cost anything major, just standard service costs and the labour charge. If it comes to more than that then they're just trying to milk you like a money cow.

You might want to cut the spring down slightly as well, it's got a brand new M120 in it at the moment and I never got chance to chrono it, but I'd guess it's pushing 370 if not higher.

Good luck with it anyway, I'd been planning on turning it into a USMC FN M16A4, complete with licensed FN receiver with "Burst" on the selector and everything.

i dont mind working with version 2s,the trigger annoys me a bit but apart from that its okay,i wish airsoft companys would put ring connectors like g&p rifles so they dont come off easy.

The trigger in my G&P's so difficult to get to sit properly. They spring that returns it after shooting is so strong that when you try to put the gearbox together, as soon as you hand leaves the trigger, it jumps out its place.

Love the connectors on G&P motors, simple rings with a screw. Stay on so much better than those other types :P

Great, taking my mate's apart later today, keeps mis-feeding, on all mags. I think it may be the tappet plate or the nozzle, anyone know?

Liam, if you want to make the trigger spring less... Springy... Then instead of poking the spring through the hole cut in the trigger, just hook it around the back of the trigger. Works just the same but gives it less springiness.

could be tappet plate spring or nozzle not seated correctly

Yeah that's what I was thinking, will find out later :P. Could it be related to the hop? I've read that causing double feeds but not misfeeds.

That's an idea.. Although it is good fun forcing things together :P.

Also, how easy/hard is the ASCU to install? I plan on buying one this week or next, along with all my M4 parts as I'm getting money back from my laptop.

it may be mags not in correctly,it could be the whole hop because when i had my g&g for the first time the ir was a dimple in the feed tube from the mag of the inside of the hop and it was letting the odd bb through
